Recall Details
This recall involves nine model year 2021 Can-Am Outlander and Renegade models. The vehicles were sold in various colors including red, tundra green, granite gray-octane blue, camo and yellow. The model name is printed on the side panels of the vehicles. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is printed on the frame under the seat in the middle and on the frame behind the right front wheel.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact a BRP Can-Am ATV dealer for a free repair. BRP is contacting all known purchasers directly.
BRP received two reports of the rear wheel coming loose and falling off the all-terrain vehicles. No injuries have been reported.

The crank can break, due to fatigue fractures, causing the rider to lose control, posing fall and crash hazards.
The high voltage cables on the motor controller unit can be loose, causing the cable to arc or overheat while in use, posing fire and crash hazards and risk of serious injury.
The recalled ATVs fail to comply with the requirements of the federal mandatory ATV safety regulations. The throttle lever on the recalled ATVs can fail to return to the idle position when a driver releases it, and the vehicle could then unexpectedly continue to accelerate, posing a crash hazard.
The vehicle can move when on an incline and “park” is displayed on the digital dash. This can allow the vehicle to roll away, posing a crash hazard.
