Description:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kearney-National, Hapco Division, of Abingdon, Va., is voluntarily recalling about 118 Internal Halyard Flagpoles. A partially crimped sleeve on these flagpoles can allow the cable to pull through the sleeve, causing the loop to release. When the assembly is raised with no flag attached, it can allow a seven-pound counter-weight to drop to the ground, possibly hitting people nearby.

Incidents/Injuries: Kearney-National is aware of three incidents of a counter weight falling, including with one incident resulting in a minor injury.

Sold at: Hardware and flag stores nationwide from August 2003 through October 2003 for between $1,000 and $1,500.
