On March 2, 2021 the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) hosted an artificial intelligence forum to collect information on the voluntary consensus standards, certification, and product specification efforts associated with products using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related technologies. The information collected from the forum will assist staff in making recommendations for improving the safety of consumer products that include this technology. CPSC's micromobility forum was focused on the injury data, standards development, safety practices, design and research, and policy involving self-balancing scooters, electric scooters, and electric bicycles. A broad audience attended ranging from manufacturers, educational institutions, consumer advocates, and government representatives.
