Relevant Rulemaking

The Commission published an ANPR for Performance Requirements for Residential Gas Furnaces and Boilers, in the Federal Register on August 19, 2019 (84 FR 42847).

Purpose

To work with technical committees on revising the voluntary standards to strengthen safety provisions addressing hazards associated with carbon monoxide risks due to failure modes, such as disconnected vents and partially blocked vents.
