Recall Details
This recall involves all model year 2016 through 2019 Honda Pioneer 1000 side-by-side vehicles. The recalled vehicles were sold in various colors including: red, blue, green, gray and yellow. The name “HONDA” is on the front, sides and the rear of the vehicle. The model name Pioneer 1000 is printed on a label located on both sides of the vehicle, near the rear. The serial number (VIN #) is stamped in the frame at the left rear, below the tilt-up bed/seat. The following model numbers and serial number ranges are being recalled:

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ROVs and contact an authorized Honda Powersports dealer to schedule an appointment for a free inspection and repair. Honda is contacting all known purchasers directly.
The firm has received 15 reports of the throttle pedal sticking in the open position, including six crashes, resulting in a report of a concussion and a broken nose.

The crank can break, due to fatigue fractures, causing the rider to lose control, posing fall and crash hazards.
The high voltage cables on the motor controller unit can be loose, causing the cable to arc or overheat while in use, posing fire and crash hazards and risk of serious injury.
The recalled ATVs fail to comply with the requirements of the federal mandatory ATV safety regulations. The youth ATVs’ mechanical suspension fails to comply with safety requirements, posing a crash hazard. Weight plates above 55 lbs included in the set can dislodge from the 5 lb grip handles, posing an impact injury hazard to the user.
The throttle lever on the recalled ATVs can fail to return to the idle position when a driver releases it, and the vehicle could then unexpectedly continue to accelerate, posing a crash hazard.
The vehicle can move when on an incline and “park” is displayed on the digital dash. This can allow the vehicle to roll away, posing a crash hazard.
