The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: Craftsman Lawn Tractors
Units: About 8,200
Manufacturer: Husqvarna Consumer Outdoor Products N.A. Inc., of Augusta, Ga.
Hazard: The tractor's parking brake can fail posing a loss of control hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled Craftsman power lawn tractor is gray colored, has 19.5 HP engine, automatic drive, and a 42 inch cutting deck. The following model and serial numbers are included in the recall. The model and serial numbers are located on a model plate under the tractor's seat.

Sold by: Sears and Kmart stores nationwide and on the Web at www.sears.com from January 2009 through April 2009 for about $1,200.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled tractors immediately and contact Sears for a free inspection at your home and, if necessary, a free repair of the parking brake cable. Sears is directly contacting consumers who purchased this product.

The recalled planter box frame can break, posing an injury hazard.
Alcohol flames can be invisible and lead to flame jetting when refilling the fire pit reservoir. Flame jetting is a serious event that can occur while pouring alcohol, when fire flashes back to the alcohol container and suddenly propels burning alcohol out of the container and onto people nearby.
Alcohol can also splash, spill or leak out of the fire pit reservoir during use, causing a flash fire that can spread and create larger hotter flames, that can escape the unit.
Use of the recalled fire pits can lead to injury quickly and unexpectedly, causing burns in less than one second, that can be serious and deadly.
The flashlights can overheat and melt the outer casing, posing fire and burn hazards.
The front bell crank in the brake linkage can fail causing the tractor to lose braking, resulting in a crash hazard.
If water gets into the mower’s handle support while the battery is installed, the mower can fail to shut off when the bail handle is released or start without a key, posing a laceration hazard to the user.
The fuel supply line can leak gas, posing a fire hazard.
