The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is on the job and working to protect consumers from unreasonable risks of injury or death associated with consumer products under the agency’s jurisdiction.
In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), CPSC is using an approach that relies on employees teleworking to the maximum extent possible in conjunction with staff whose onsite presence is necessary to perform their duties. Our goal is to provide for the safety of our staff while continuing our work for the safety of consumers.
Companies are reminded of their statutory obligation to report under Section 15(b) of the Consumer Product Safety Act. Consumers are encouraged to continue reporting incidents or unsafe products at SaferProducts.gov or the CPSC Hotline 1.800.638.2772.

CPSC Recall Remedy Notice Due to COVID-19
Due to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding COVID-19, some of the remedies identified in recall press releases may not be available at this time. Consumers should check with recalling firms for further details.

FOIA Procedures in Response to COVID-19
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Office staff are on extended telework. As a result, we temporarily do not have access to U.S. mail, and will be processing all FOIA requests electronically during this time. FOIA requests and appeals submitted via US mail or courier, and any FOIA records requiring physical delivery will be delayed. If you are a requester who has not already signed up for Public Access Link (PAL) in order to submit electronic FOIA requests and appeals, and to receive FOIA responses electronically, please do so today by visiting https://foiapal.cpsc.gov/App/Home.aspx. In the alternative, please submit new FOIA requests and appeals to the email@example.com email address.
