Statement from CPSC Acting Chair Ann Marie Buerkle on the Recall of the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play

April 12, 2019

We are announcing today that Fisher-Price has agreed to recall all 4.7 million Rock ‘n Play infant sleepers. Since 2009, there have been more than 30 infant deaths involving the Rock ‘n Play after infants rolled over while unrestrained or under other circumstances.

I am urging parents to stop using this product immediately and to contact Fisher-Price for a refund or a voucher. Contact Fisher-Price by phone at 866-812-6518 or online at www.service.mattel.com.

I want to be clear, this issue has been a top priority for the agency. CPSC has been investigating incidents and analyzing the data regarding how they relate to this product.

In addition, the CPSC is continuing our investigation into other inclined sleep products. I urge consumers to report any incidents with inclined sleepers or other nursery products to CPSC at SaferProducts.gov.

As a mother and grandmother there is nothing more important to me than safety of all of our children.
