Ms. Green currently is regional head of the Women's Bureau, U.S. Department of Labor southeast regional office in Atlanta. She will assume her new position in December.
Previously, Ms. Green was a contract compliance advisor with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance in the Department of Labor. She has had diverse professional experience working with the Model Cities program in Los Angeles and as an Equal Opportunity Officer for the Department of Commerce. She also was a senior deputy probation officer for the Los Angeles County Probation Department and for eight years was a policewoman in the Los Angeles Police Department.
Ms. Green is a graduate of the University of Southern California. She is the mother of two grown children.
As Director of one of the Commission's 14 area offices, she will implement Commission decisions in the field, oversee inspections of local manufacturers and stores to insure compliance with CPSC regulations and supervise the gathering of product and injury information necessary for the Commission's regulation of consumer products. She also will coordinate liaison with state and local officials for product safety programs.
