Joel Recht, Mark Kumagai, Janet Buyer, and Matt Brookman (Directorate for Engineering Sciences), will participate in a teleconference of the Portable Generator Manufacturers Association’s (PGMA) technical committee and standards steering committee; 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., to review an updated version of the proposed revisions to the ANSI/PGMA G300 standard, Safety and Performance of Portable Generators, as well as a related document providing the rationale for the proposed revisions.  These revisions are for requirements for CO detection and shutoff systems, which are intended to address the carbon monoxide poisoning hazard associated with portable generators when used in enclosed spaces.  The meeting was requested by PGMA.  For additional information, contact Janet Buyer, jbuyer@cpsc.gov (301) 987-2293.  Transmitted to the Office of the Secretary 8/30/17.  Posted in the Public Calendar 8/30/17.
