The seminar will be comprised of three educational panels. During the first panel CPSC staff will discuss compliance programs in relation to CPSA reporting requirements. In addition, the panel will review best practices for compliance programs and address specific issues involving reverse logistics and regulatory compliance programs based on the Agency’s experience.

During the second panel, firms will share aspects of their compliance programs and address topics such as how technology is changing compliance programs going forward, how third party logistic providers and other supply chain partners can be integrated into a compliance program, how safety and quality/customer care programs can be integrated to ensure information is shared among all relevant divisions, and what checks, audits, and stress tests can be employed to ensure a compliance program is effective. Panelists will include representatives from Walmart, Clorox, Manhattan Toy and Best Buy.

The third panel will feature representatives of industry trade groups, speaking generally about the types of advice they give to their members regarding compliance programs, suggestions on how firms can improve communications with consumers to collect information, and the role of technology in compliance and reverse logistics programs.  Panelists will include representatives from the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA), and the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA).
