The following product safety recall was conducted voluntarily by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: 3.7-inch Stator (stationary component of a motor) used in pumps
Units: About 5,877
Manufacturer: Emerson Motor Co., 8100 W. Florissant Ave., St. Louis MO 63136
Hazard: Under locked condition, it can become overheated and present a potential fire/shock hazard to consumers
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The stators were sold to Procon Products for the application in insecticide insertion pumps and water purification systems.
Sold at: Stators were sold to Procon Products between May 2002 and September 2004.
Manufactured in: Mexico
Remedy: Emerson Motor Company will repair or replace all non-conforming units at no cost to the consumers.
