CPSC, Target Announce Recall of Summerville™ Toy Truck Sets
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announces the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of product: Summerville™ Toy Trucks Sets
Units: 25,500
Manufacturer: Target Corp., of Minneapolis, Minn.
Hazard: Components on the trucks could detach, posing a choking and sharp point hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recall includes Summerville™ four-piece truck sets. The multicolored trucks are about 4.5-inches long. Various types of trucks sold in the sets include dump trucks, cement trucks, utility trucks, garbage trucks, box trucks, fuel trucks, and tow trucks. Writing on the trucks includes "EMERGENCY," "HEAVY DUTY," or "CITY SERVICE." "Summerville™" and the item number "204 02 0458" are written on the packaging.
Sold at: Target stores nationwide from February 2004 through May 2004 for about $6.

Remedy: Consumers should return the recalled trucks to Target for a refund.
