Just go to the Market on your Android phone and search for recalls.gov to download the app.
On the Recent Recalls page, you can see all the recalls from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Food and Drug Administration, and the Department of Agriculture.
These agencies issue thousands of recall announcements each year of millions of products due to safety concerns.
To limit these results, select the drop down menu and choose a product category.
Click on a recall to see all the details, including photos and instructions on what to do with the product.
Recalls for products at your child's day care center or a yard sale, at a store or in your home, can be found easily using the Search button.
Simply select a category and type in your search term.
For instance, a "cribs" search under the Consumer Product category will show you all the cribs that have been recalled.
Select any product and go right to the information about the recall.
Stay informed with tips on how to safeguard you and your family, such as how to prevent children from falling out of windows or from drowning.
Now you can even report a safety complaint right from your phone.
Select "Report Incident", choose the type of product and follow each agency's instructions.
For consumer products, fill out the form using your phone's keypad.
